Another Slow Week

Another warm week made hunting tough! Through the week we had two bucks killed. One by Billy Shaffer, a spike, and another by Kelley Hyde, a cool looking 10 point. With lots of corn still on many of the fields and the warm temperatures it is not a good recipe for success. Walking in the woods I am not seeing many scrapes or rubs either. Trail Camera pictures are limited as well. Some areas are saying the chasing has begun, but it is the same thing every year. There are always a few does that go into estrus early and that will give a false rut. As for the other chasing you see, it is younger bucks just testing the water before the big surge of the rut kicks in. Keep hunting hard and be safe!!!!!
