Slow Start

The buck pool is off to a slow start this year but there are few reasons why!
1. Weather has been unseasonably warm in Pennsylvania for this time of year. Usually in the middle of October we are seeing much cooler temperatures. Bucks will stay bedded in safe areas until the night when it is cooler and they have less to worry about.
2. Crops are everywhere! All you have to do is drive anywhere and you will see large corn fields and bean fields ready to be picked. Hoping for there crops to come off over the next week or two is about all you can hope for.
3. Lack of Scraping and Rubbing is also something I have noticed. I have found very few rubs and or scrapes that are getting hit. All of this will pick up over the next few weeks as we see daylight diminish and temperatures get cooler.
There have been a few nice bucks killed in the early season. I believe there will be some great bucks taken in the upcoming weeks as well. Best of luck to all who are out chasing the Big Bucks! Keep safe and shoot straight!
